FAQs
Questions, answered.
The questions sole traders and freelancers ask us most, about every Sprint, payments and looking after your site.
I’m a sole trader and I’m not sure which Sprint I need. Where do I start?
Start your journey with the ten-minute questionnaire and tick “I’m not sure yet”. We’ll work out the right Sprint together on your free 30-minute discovery call, with no pressure to book.
How does a Sprint actually work?
A fixed price, a fixed date and a fixed scope. You fill in a ten-minute questionnaire, then we have a free 30-minute discovery call. Your private hub opens the same day with your contract. Once you’ve signed and paid your deposit, you fill in your brief, and your Sprint starts the Monday after it’s approved.
Who will I actually be working with?
The same person from your first call to launch day. Specialist designers help behind the scenes, but you’ll always have one contact and never get passed around.
How do I pay?
To secure your Sprint, 50% is due when you sign your contract, and 50% on completion, before your site goes live or your files are released. You pay by card, from a secure link in your hub.
What if I change my mind after paying the deposit?
Your deposit becomes non-refundable once your brief is approved and your start date is booked, because that week is then held just for you.
What happens if I can’t get my feedback in by Monday?
Your project moves to the next free slot, so your launch date moves too. We send a reminder every Friday, so it rarely happens. If a project stalls for more than 14 days, the final invoice is still due.
When can I get hold of you?
We work Monday to Wednesday, and Thursday mornings. Messages sent from Thursday afternoon to Sunday are picked up on Monday.
Do I need to prepare anything for the discovery call?
No. Your questionnaire answers give us a head start, so just come ready to talk about your business.
Are calls recorded?
Yes. Every call is recorded and transcribed, and the transcript is saved in your hub, so nothing gets lost.
Are you AI-powered?
Yes, and proudly. AI takes care of the heavy lifting, like first drafts, research and setup, which is how we deliver in weeks rather than months. But every creative decision, every design and every sign-off is ours. Real people lead your project from your first call to launch day, nothing reaches you without us checking it first, and your data is never used to train AI models.
I’m not in the UK. Can I still work with you?
Yes. We work with sole traders and freelancers in the UK and France, and you can pay in pounds or euros.
How can you build a whole website in four weeks?
We get it. Agencies often take two to three months. Our process is built for sole traders: we know the right questions to ask, your brief is done before day one, and every week has a fixed delivery and a fixed feedback date. No waiting around, no endless email chains.
How much of my time will it take?
30 minutes to an hour for your brief before you start. Then each week you review what we’ve sent and leave your feedback by Monday, taking as long as you need. On top of that, there’s a 30-minute mid-Sprint call and a 30-minute launch call.
I saw the Brand Starter. Why wouldn’t I just do that instead of a Brand Sprint?
Good question. The Brand Starter is only for website clients who don’t have a brand yet: three simple directions, then a wordmark, four colours and a font pairing, enough to get your site live. The Brand Sprint is a full identity built around your personality, with a workshop, three logo concepts, two rounds of refinement, a brand guide and every file you’ll need for years.
Can I update the website myself after it’s built?
Yes. You get a simple back office to change your words and images, with three short how-to videos: editing text, swapping images and adding a page section.
Will people actually find me on Google?
We set up SEO and GEO properly from day one, with Search Console and your Google Business Profile. Nobody can honestly promise rankings, so you also get a starter guide to help you keep climbing, from collecting Google reviews to listing in the right directories.
I already have a website. Can you replace it?
Yes. We build your new site from scratch, switch your domain over on launch day and redirect your old pages, so you don’t lose the Google rankings you’ve built up.
Do you write the words, or do I?
We do. Your copy is refined and written from your brief and notes, and you can change it right up to sign-off.
What if I need more than five pages?
The Website Sprint is up to five pages. For six to ten pages, or bookings and payments built in, the Website Sprint Plus is the right fit, and pages beyond ten are £175 each.
What if I want something changed next month?
You can change your own words and images at any time in your back office, for free. On the Care plan, up to 30 minutes of small design changes a month are included. Anything bigger, like new pages, sections or features, is £70 an hour, always quoted and agreed in writing first.
Who owns the website?
You do. Your domain is in your name and the site is yours. We host it and look after it on a Hosting or Care plan.
What’s the difference between a layout change and an amend?
A layout change alters the layout, colours or page structure. You get two rounds, in weeks two and three, and the design is signed off at your mid-Sprint call. An amend changes words, images or small details, and those carry on until sign-off.
Do I need my own photos?
You need at least five usable images, either your own or a plan for stock. Photography isn’t included in the Sprint.
I don’t have a logo yet. Can I still start?
Yes. Every website needs a logo, colours and fonts, so if you don’t have them, you’ll add the Brand Starter for £250, delivered in week one. If you’d like a full identity instead, take the Brand Sprint first.
Will it work on phones?
Yes. Every page is designed for phones, tablets and desktops, and checked on real screens before launch.
Can I sell products on my site?
Selling products online is part of the Website Sprint Plus, with the product e-commerce add-on at £70 an hour. We’ll scope and quote it with you on your discovery call.
What happens after launch?
You get 14 days of bug fixes, then your Hosting or Care plan begins. Bigger changes to your live site, like new sections or features, are £70 an hour and always agreed in writing first.
What’s the difference between the Website Sprint and Plus?
Plus is for bigger sites, six to ten pages, and for anything that works inside the site: bookings, payments and deposits, memberships, gift cards, logins and client accounts. You still get everything in the Website Sprint, launched in the same four weeks.
Why does Plus take the same four weeks?
Because the process is the same. The extra pages and features are built alongside the rest of your site, so Plus costs more rather than taking longer.
Can you connect the booking tool I already use?
Usually, yes. If your booking tool offers an integration, we’ll connect it to your site. If it doesn’t, we’ll tell you on your discovery call and suggest the best way round it, which might be building your bookings into the site instead.
How do customers pay me?
However suits you: card payments through Stripe, PayPal or Square, or bank transfer. Each one is set up in your own name, so payments go straight to you, and any provider fees are paid by you, directly to them.
Can I sell products online?
Yes, with the product e-commerce add-on. On your discovery call we’ll talk through what you sell, how many products, stock and delivery, then quote it at £70 an hour before anything starts. Very large shops suit a specialist shop platform better, and we’ll tell you honestly if that’s you.
What if I need more than ten pages?
Pages beyond ten are £175 each. For much bigger sites, we’ll talk it through and quote on your discovery call.
Does a booking system cost more to run?
No. It runs on your normal hosting. Only payment and booking provider fees are extra, and you pay those directly.
How can you deliver a whole brand in just three weeks?
We understand the worry. Branding agencies often take six to 12 weeks. Our process is streamlined for sole traders: one focused workshop, clear weekly deliveries and fixed feedback dates. We know the right questions to ask, and your brand is in the hands of specialists who do this every week.
How much of my time will it take?
A 60-minute personality workshop in week one, a 45-minute review in week three, and your feedback in your hub between deliveries.
Who designs my brand?
A specialist brand designer, briefed and managed by the TRKD|OUT team, with the same contact the whole way through.
What do I actually get at the end?
Your primary logo, an icon, every colour version, your colour palette with HEX, RGB and CMYK values, your font pairing, a brand guide and a file pack ready for your website, social media and print.
What’s the difference between the Brand Sprint and the Brand Starter?
The Brand Starter (£250) is only available with a Website Sprint, for clients who don’t have a brand yet. It’s quick and simple: three directions, you choose one, and you get a wordmark, a four-colour palette and a font pairing. The Brand Sprint is a full identity built around your personality: a workshop, a moodboard, three logo concepts, two rounds of refinement, a brand guide and a complete file pack.
Do I have to pay for fonts?
No. We use fonts that are free to use, so there’s nothing to pay. If you’d prefer a paid font, the licence is yours to buy.
Does it include business cards or signage?
No. You get every file you need to brief a printer or signwriter, but printed materials, signage and vehicle artwork aren’t included.
Can I go straight into a Website Sprint afterwards?
Yes. Your Website Sprint can start the Monday after your brand is signed off, and both live in the same hub.
I’m a freelancer and I want marketing support, but I don’t know if I’m ready. How will I know?
If you’re already trading, you have a brand and somewhere people can find you, and you want more of the right customers, you’re ready. If you don’t have a brand or a website yet, start there, and we’ll tell you honestly on your discovery call.
How many video calls do we get, and what do they cover?
Four 45-minute calls, one a week. Week one is your story, goals and an audit of your brand and channels. Week two is a masterclass in marketing for a business like yours. Week three shapes your six-month plan together, and week four takes you through your finished plan and sets up your tools.
What do I walk away with?
A 12-month vision, a six-month marketing plan, social media and email strategies, your content plan and schedule, your tools set up, and a monthly checklist of what to measure. After every call, your hub is updated with notes and actions.
Is it just about social media?
No. We start with your goals, your budget and your time, then choose what will actually work for you: social media, email, Google, ads, partnerships or a mix.
Do I need a website first?
No. You need somewhere people can find you, like social media or a Google Business Profile. If a website turns out to be part of your plan, a Website Sprint can follow.
How much of my time will it take?
One 45-minute call a week for four weeks, plus a little homework: sharing access to your accounts after week one, and filling in your content plan and schedule after week three.
Will you run my marketing for me afterwards?
No, we don’t run your marketing for you. The Marketing Sprint gives you a clear plan you can run yourself, with the confidence to do it. If you’d like a hand along the way, we offer ad hoc support at £70 an hour.
Can I get support once my plan’s delivered?
Yes. You start running your plan the Monday after, with your monthly checklist to keep you on track, and we offer ad hoc support at £70 an hour whenever you need it.
Should I do it after a Website Sprint?
It’s a natural next step. Once your site is live, the Marketing Sprint shows you how to bring the right people to it.
What do I get with hosting?
For £15 a month or £150 a year: your site live with a security certificate, backups, uptime monitoring, security updates and your back office. Changes are £70 an hour.
What does the Care plan add?
For £40 a month or £400 a year: everything in Hosting, plus priority fixes within two working days, and up to 30 minutes of small design changes every month, like rearranging a section or adding one in your site’s style.
Do I really need the Care plan?
If you’d like small tweaks most months, it’s worth it. 30 minutes of changes would cost £35 on Hosting alone, and you get faster fixes too. If you’re happy editing your own words and images, Hosting is all you need, and you can switch at any time.
Is it cheaper to pay yearly?
Yes. A yearly plan gives you two months free: £150 instead of £180 for Hosting, and £400 instead of £480 for the Care plan. We email you 30 days before it renews.
Can I switch plans or cancel?
You can switch between plans at any time, from your next payment date. The Care plan can be cancelled with 30 days’ notice, and your site stays live on Hosting.
Are my domain and email included?
No. Your domain is yours, so you buy and renew it directly. Email accounts, like Google Workspace, are separate too.
Do I have to host with you?
Every site we build is hosted by us from launch, so it stays fast and secure. If you ever want to move it, give us 30 days’ notice and we’ll transfer your files to accounts you set up, at our hourly rate.
